“Sober guitar rock with Frisian roots”  would be a good description of the music of Emptyheads. But it is much, much more.  Emptyheads produce a rich, melodious mix of rock, metal, and Britpop.  Guitar rock?  “OK.”  Sober?  “Rather, full of emotion”.  With Frisian roots?  “Certainly, if that means grown from good stock”.  Empty heads?  “Certainly not!” Life for Emptyheads stands only for music!

Emptyheads have played for some time now in the club circuit and that hasn’t gone unnoticed.  The band has been invited to play for a number of big festivals (Indorppop, Bospop, Mama’s Pride) in Holland.  They have shared the podium with, among others, Green Lizard, Billy The Kid, The Gathering, Dreadlock Pussy, and De Heideroosjes.  Emptyheads also answered the call of being the opening act for bands none other than The Posies and Kane! In addition, the band has also played “across the border” in Hungary and England.

Gooseberry Season is the name of the debut cd from Emptyheads; a strong album with well-produced English-language rocksongs.  The band’s first excursion into Dutch-language songs was with the single De Stem Van Het Leven.  The most recent work from the band is the ep Goodmorning which was promoted with two videoclips!

Thanks to their live shows the band is now well-known by name.  Stirring, inspired and animated, full of dedication, mixed with a healthy dose of Frisian humor and soberness.

“Uit de Friese klei getrokken nuchtere gitaarrock” zou een goede omschrijving van de muziek van Emptyheads kúnnen zijn. Echter het is meer, veel meer. Emptyheads produceren een vette, melodieuze mix van rock, metal en Britpop. Gitaarrock? “Oké.” Nuchter? “Eerder vol emotie.” Uit de klei getrokken? “Jazeker, als bedoeld wordt: uit het goede hout gesneden.” Leeghoofden? “Zeker niet!” Live geldt voor Emptyheads alleen muziek, vandaar!”

Emptyheads draaien al een tijdje mee in het clubcircuit en dat bleef niet onopgemerkt. De band werd uitgenodigd op een aantal grote festivals in Nederland. (Indorppop,Bospop, Mama’s Pride) Zij deelden daar de podia met o.a. Green Lizard, Billy the Kid, The Gathering, Dreadlock Pussy, De Heideroosjes e.v.a.) Ook verzorgde de band voorprogramma’s van niet de minste bands zoals The Posies en Kane! Daarnaast speelde de band “over de grens” in o.a. Hongarije en Engeland.

Naamsbekendheid kregen Emptyheads dankzij hun live optredens. Opzwepend, bezieling, vol overgave gerelativeerd met een gezonde dosis Friese humor en nuchterheid.
